This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Discipline (the “App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related backend services. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account to create and secure your account.
Profile details. A display name and an optional profile photo you upload. Uploaded photos are stored as image files on our server; your account record only references the file location.
App content. The disciplines/habits you create, their schedules and reminders, your daily completions, and the challenges you join along with your check-ins.
Preferences. Settings such as your chosen language, appearance, and notification preferences.

Information collected automatically

Device & push token. If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) and your device’s timezone so we can deliver reminders.
Technical data. Standard server logs (e.g. IP address, request time, and app version) used for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
Advertising identifiers. Our advertising provider (Google AdMob) may access your device advertising ID and related information to serve and measure ads. See “Advertising” below.

2. How we use your information

Provide, maintain, and sync the App across your devices.
Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
Track your streaks, statistics, and challenge progress.
Send reminders and streak notifications you have opted into.
Display advertisements to support the free App.
Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the App.

3. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads and to measure performance. This processing is governed by Google’s policies.

4. Third-party services

We rely on the following service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above to operate the App, or when required by law. Note that within a challenge, your display name and progress may be visible to other participants of the same challenge.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, disciplines, completions, challenges, check-ins, uploaded photo, and device tokens from our systems. Some anonymized or aggregated logs may be retained for security and legal compliance.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and access to your account is protected by an authenticated session token. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or by contacting us.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
